The entire goal of this campaign was recruitment. In the past there was a certain mystique to working for an airline. Pilots could go anywhere they please and stewardesses were heralded above many.
Conveying the nostalgic mood coupled with modern design took quite a bit of research. Lufthansa being a German airline required a very German typeface: Din. While most airline advertisements of the 40s and 50s came from Pan-Am and TWA, I felt it critical to share the same nostalgic feeling in this set.
