About Daniel Niño
I was born in Madrid (Spain) in 1985. And, contrary to the typical biography of many other photographers, I did not love photography the moment my father gave me his old and cute analogue camera for my 6th birthday. My parents used to give me other and more (in their opinion) useful stuff, like ugly patterned sweaters and colourful Disney backpacks for school.
Some years later, I studied Advertising and Public Relations in the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain) and the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium). The experience of living abroad gave me a new vision of the world and, during my time living in Belgium, I completed many trips all over Europe, so I had the idea of buying a second-hand camera to take some photos of that trips. Thanks to that camera I started to take pictures and to learn different aspects of photography, which finally started my addiction to that art.
I have always loved every sort of creativity and as a result, when I went back to Madrid I started to work in the international advertising agency J.Walter Thompson as junior graphic designer. At the same time, I took some graphic design and retouching courses, which really helped me to develop my skills. I continued learning everything I could about photography and did some photographic assignments, which gave me very valuable experience.
The desire of new experiences and inspirations led me to Paris (France), where I am currently based. And I can promise you that here finally the ugly sweaters which my parents gave me for Christmas are really useful :)
